May Roundup: Highlights of the Month

May has been a busy month for us to say the least! We broke out our best dress for the RDS, lost all sense of the phrase ‘We’ve updated our Privacy Policy’ and had just enough time leftover to catch the tail-end of a long overdue heatwave.  We’ve decided this summer to start a series of monthly blog posts where we summarise some of the highlights of each month. So, without further ado, and in no particular order, here’s MASONRY’s Highlights of the Month…

   1. NEW INTERNS

May kicked off with a flying start as two fresh new faces joined us in the office.

This summer we’ve taken two internsaboard to help us get through the busy season; Clara Crawford from University of Rhode Island and Christine Costello from University of Limerick. We hit the ground running to say the least, with a packed week of launches, live sessions and meetings to give our interns a feel for the industry. Both took it all in their stride, unfazed by the hectic PR life and ready for whatever challenges the summer presented them with, thus making them a perfect addition to the MASONRY team.

2. FLEADHTV LAUNCH

One of our bigger events in May took us to Drogheda where we gave a big warm Fáilte to the new home of FleadhTV! Anaction-packed day filled with photoshoots, jigs, reels, the whole shebang. Hector Ó hEochagáin introduced us to the brand new team of FleadhTV presenters who were just as excited as we were. With only two months until the big show, Drogheda was bustling with anticipation; local businesses flying their Fleadh colours and a banner hanging above the street to welcome the Fleadh team with open arms. Watch this space for an exclusive behind the scenes video of our adventures in Drogheda that day.

3. GDPR (Queue dramatic music)

Bet you didn’t know we’ve updated our privacy policy? It’s safe to say we survived the dreaded GDPR-gate with just a little bit of our sanity remaining. The email count has dropped to only a hundred opt-in messages an hour and our inboxes are slowly regaining consciousness after the week-long explosion of mail.

 4. MoJoFest

From Y2K levels of panic to the glistening waters of Galway Bay, MASONRY took a step back from the chaotic office life and took a day trip to the Tribe for the most highly-anticipated tech event of the year: MoJoFest (Mobile Journalism Festival). Curated by the pioneer of the Irish MoJo industry, Glen Mulcahy, MoJoFest is a three day event where the top techies showcase the industry’s finest innovations. Here at MASONRY we pride ourselves on our comprehensive social media coverage whenit comes to our clients and events. Trips to MoJoFest are just one of the few extra steps we take to keep ourselves ahead of the game.

  5. IFTAS

Last, but certainly not least, we had our chance to brush shoulders with the rich and famous at this years IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards). Not only were we in attendance, but long-time MASONRY client Gifted Empire took home the award for best live television programme. We wined, dined and celebrated – a little something happened but there’s always room to improve. It was a night we’ll never forget and another one of hopefully many IFTA awards to come!
